Established in 2023, our U13 collaboration with NFL Flag has resulted in 2 teams representing Nigeria at the NFL Flag games in Florida and the first ever Africa Continental Games in Egypt. States involved to date include; Lagos, Abuja, Oyo and Kwara. Our U13 and U15 programs are our only Co-ed leagues.

The NSSFFL is NAFA’s flagship Tournament bringing over 5000 players from 17 states to compete at the prestigious Aketi Bowl Championships. The NSSFFL is Africa’s largest gathering of Flag football Athletes.

Newly established and slated to launch in 2027, the Collegiate Flag Football league is being designed to bridge the gap between teenage participants and the semi-professional leagues running in the country. the NCFFL is open to all Universities, Polytechnics and specialised Colleges in Nigeria

Our Partner Leagues

Abuja Flag Football League (AFFL)

Nigeria’s second older but longest running Flag football program, the Abuja Flag Football League is NAFA’s first league partnership. With over 200 players, it is the only running league in Northern Nigeria.

Community Flag Football League (CFFL)

Newly established in 2025, community flag football league came out of the now defunct, Shitsuke Flag Football League. The CFFL boasts most of the oldest running flag football teams in Nigeria and is promoting a community driven approach to Flag Football development.

Ogun Flag Football League

Established to support NSSFFL, the Ogun league has produced national team players and many officials blazing the trail in flag football in Nigeria.

Jeff Okudah Flag Football

Established as a transition program from the Nigeria Secondary School Flag Football League, the Jeff Okudah Flag Football Championship has had a season and we are looking forward to another season.

The Uprise Flag Football

Established by New York Giants legend Osi Umeniyora, the Uprise was the first televised flag football league in Nigeria. While currently inactive, the Uprise works with NAFA with the NFL Africa International Player Pathways (IPP) initiative.

Sankofa Bowl

The Sankofa Bowl has been sub Saharan Africa’s Tackle games. Establishes by the Lagos Marines and the Ivory Coast team, the Sakofa Bowl was last played in 2019 with plans for new games in the coming years.
