Welcome to the Nigerian Secondary School Flag Football League (NSSFFL)! Our mission is to ignite passion, foster sportsmanship, and create a vibrant community of young flag football enthusiasts across Nigeria. Whether you’re a player, coach, or supporter, this league is your gateway to the exciting world of flag football.

NSSFFL Focus

The NSSFFL is intended for only student fin High school from the age of 12 – 18, the league also select players form these groups to join the U17 National team on both male and female categories, the league is also focused on full educational scholarship all through university level for all the athletes in the teams that win the league championship games with other side benefits, the aim is to put the sport as part of the school curriculum in the states where the sport is established.

About NSSFFL

The NSSFFL is a dynamic platform that brings together secondary school students male and female within the grade 7 – 11 from all corners of Nigeria. Here’s what you need to know:

Inclusive Sport: Flag football has become the fastest-growing sports globally, played by over 20 million people in more than 100 countries with over 100% growth in participation and membership yearly. It’s inclusive, accessible, and suitable for players of all ages and genders due to it safe nature.

Passion Meets Education: NSSFFL combines the thrill of the game with educational opportunities as there are lots of scholarships opportunities both locally and internationally for both genders. And NAFA through its partnership with Global Wealth University and other partners has provided almost 500 full university scholarships to deserving athletes since 2021 till 2023. We believe that sports and academics go hand in hand. As you chase touchdowns, we encourage you to pursue excellence in your studies through the available platforms.

Regional Competitions: Teams from various states compete in regional qualifiers. The top-performing teams earn their spot in the national finals every year at this level.

NSSFFL National Finals

The NSSFFL national finals is called the AKETI Bowl, its first edition was in August 2023 and it’s a celebration of talent, teamwork, and determination. The states winners of the NSSFFL regarded as the outstanding teams battle it out for supremacy.
