History / Background
The Nigeria Collegiate Flag Football League (NCFFL) was launched under the guidance of the Nigeria American Football Association (NAFA), in partnership with Browns Nigeria, and aligned with the Nigerian Universities Games Association (NUGA).
It was created to give Nigerian students a structured entry point into flag football, while preparing tertiary institutions to compete in both national and international tournaments.
The NCFFL builds on the foundation of the Nigerian Secondary School Flag Football League (NSSFFL), also established by NAFA, which introduces the game at the secondary school level. The NSSFFL serves as the feeder system into the collegiate program, ensuring a clear developmental pathway from secondary school → tertiary institutions → national and global opportunities in American football.
